Lucinda Rogers works directly from life using ink, crayon and watercolour on paper. She has been drawing New York since her first visit in 1988 and this selection is from more than one hundred drawings. From a rooftop in Spitalfields in 2001 she began to draw London and to record buildings and ways of life that are changing or disappearing, particularly in the East End. Drawings of the workplace continued with a series about Tottenham and then Frome in Somerset. Marrakech is a more recent city subject.
